Your specialist for applications of fast ionic conduction in solids (Ionics).

  • Oxygen sensors in the trace range and in ambient air
  • Sensors for environmental and industrial process gases
  • Instruments and laboratory equipment for development work in Ionics
  • Consulting on the development of lithium batteries and fuel cells

The oxygen (O2) measuring devices are based on the selective conduction of oxygen ions from optimized solid electrolytes. Oxygen can therefore be measured precisely and reliably in the ppm/trace range (0-200 or 1-2000 ppm) and percentage range (1-100%). The sensors are maintenance-free and have long-term stability. These sensors can be expanded to additionally measure moisture.

Solid electrolytes also offer the possibility of determining the concentrations of gases for which solid ionic conductors do not exist, as is the case with oxygen. The coupling to the electrolyte takes place using gas-sensitive electrodes. The processes have been patented by us. Examples are complex gases such as CO2 and SOx, as well as chlorine or H2.

Equipment is offered to support daily work in the laboratory, e.g. holders for solid-state galvanic chains in defined gas environments, furnaces and oxygen control and analysis devices. We also offer electronic measuring and control devices (electrometers, potentiostats and galvanostats) specifically for Ionics.

Solid ionic conductors with purely ionic and mixed ionic-electronic conduction have high potential for the development of high-performance batteries, fuel cells, chemical sensors, electrochromic displays and windows. We have leading expertise in this area and offer scientifically based advice.

About Us

Ionic Systems® was founded in 1992 as a spinoff of internationally leading academic research in the field of solid-state electrochemistry (Ionics). Ionic Systems is the specialist for the latest developments in the field of chemical sensors based on solid electrolytes as well as ionics instruments and laboratory equipment. We also offer our expertise in consulting in the areas of all-solid-state batteries as well as solid electrolyte sensors, fuel cells and electrochromism.
